Dental Implants

Changing peoples lives, the easy way

At Signature Smile, we have a specialist oral surgeon with many years of experience in the field of dental implants, giving us a very high success rate.

The main reason for using dental implants is to replace missing teeth. Missing teeth may look unsightly, but may also be responsible for a whole host of other problems; your bite may be affected by drifting teeth, causing tension headaches, food packing may occur into the gaps causing decay and gum disease to the neighbouring teeth.

A dental implant is the ultimate in tooth replacement, by way of aesthetics, comfort and function- allowing you to eat, smile and speak with complete confidence. What’s more, there is no cutting, or bonding to any of your natural teeth, thereby preserving healthy tooth tissue.

What are implants?

Dental implants are the treatment of choice for replacing missing teeth. They are artificial tooth roots made from surgical grade titanium that are placed directly into the jaw during a simple surgical procedure. A restoration is placed on the implant giving the impression of a real tooth, naturally emerging from the gum line. Implants are indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Implants are massively flexible in how they can be used to help people:

Single missing tooth: In the simplest implant cases, if you only have one missing tooth then you will need one implant.

Multiple missing teeth: You can either replace each missing tooth with one implant (maximum aesthetics) or an implant bridge can be made, for example, if you have two teeth missing side by side then normally one implant can replace both teeth.

No natural teeth left: Implants can be used to retain full dentures, for maximum retention and stability- for the ultimate comfort in eating and confidence in your smile. Two implants in the lower jaw (one on each side) can be used to hold a full lower denture.

In some cases, there may not be enough bone to support an implant, and you may therefore need a bone grafting procedure or a sinus lift to increase bone support for the implant. Here at Signature Smile we have an experienced surgical specialist who can expertly and safely carry out these procedures, coupled with our 3d x-ray system, rest assured you will be receiving the highest expert care.
